Through my work as an educator and scientist, I hope to promote and advocate for the inclusion of women, minorities, and under-represented people in science.

Development of case studies in Ecology and Evolution
With Shannon Murphy, Robin Tinghitella, and Whitley Lehto, we are developing case studies to assist the understanding of some topics in Ecology and Evolution. So far, we developed case studies to assist in the understanding of concepts such as life tables, density dependence, adaptive selection, succession, critical thinking, disease ecology.
Check out our case studies:
Bieber, B.V.*, Welsh, G.T.*, Vidal, M.C., Lehto, W.R., Lehmer, E.M., Tinghitella, R.M., and S. M. Murphy. Disease ecology: Can plant disease and global change affect human health? Accepted: National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science.
